Baltimore Therapeutic Massage
At Charm City Integrative Health, we focus more on the therapeutic side of massage rather than relaxation. We believe massage should be considered a necessary part of your health and wellness plan as opposed to a pampering treat. Regular massage can decrease depression and anxiety, improve concentration, and enhance sleep quality. We also work with a lot of athletes of all levels to prepare for and/or recover from strenuous workouts, to ease soft tissue strains or injuries, and increase joint flexibility. Modalities we offer are:
Swedish - Most common type of massage. Most modalities include some swedish techniques. Improves circulation and decreases tension in muscles with the use of long gliding strokes. Recommended for those new to massage.
Deep Tissue - Treats specific Musculoskeletal complaints and relieves severe tension in the muscle and connective tissue. This style of massage addresses both the surface and deep layers of muscle but is designed to focus on the muscles located underneath the superficial muscles. Athletes, those who are involved in heavy physical activity, and people who sit at desks for long periods of time throughout the day respond very well to deep tissue.
Trigger Point - Use of different techniques to work out specific sore spots and relieve pain associated with them.
Assisted Stretching - Improves range of motion and joint mobility. Wear athletic clothing. Massage therapist manipulates limbs of the body to facilitate a full and deeper stretch of the muscles.
Therapeutic Massage - Customizable combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Stretching, and Trigger Point massage modalities.
Prenatal Massage - Therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
