Baltimore Acupuncture: Insurance

Charm City Integrative Health is happy to say we are in-network with most major insurance companies to bill for Acupuncture directly. Many larger insurance plans now cover acupuncture!

1) We do work directly with the VA for veterans who can receive acupuncture at no cost.  If you are a veteran looking for acupuncture please contact the VA directly and ask for a referral to our clinic.  

2) If you would like us to verify Acupuncture benefits for you please give the office a call with your insurance information at 443-869-6584.  We suggest doing this prior to making your first acupuncture appointment.  It usually takes our billers a day or two to hear back about your acupuncture benefits. If we do not have your benefits verified beforehand, we will need to collect payment in full at the time of your appointment.  

3) If you have acupuncture coverage, please be aware that you will still be responsible for co-payments, co-insurance, and/or deductibles.  

4) Unfortunately at this time, Medicare/Medicaid does not cover acupuncture. We are trying to accept Medicare for acupuncture, but the details haven’t been completely worked out yet. Stay tuned!

5) We cannot bill for acupuncture treatments for any Medicaid programs including priority partners or Amerigroup.  Kaiser Permanente requires you to see acupuncturists at their offices in order for them to cover treatment.  

6) Insurance companies who cover acupuncture may deny coverage for acupuncture even if it is on your policy.  If that happens the patient is responsible for the cost of treatments.
